About Midnight on Friday two men, aged 18 and 36, were allegedly involved in a verbal altercation inside licensed premises on Lee Street.
A short time later, the 36-year-old man has allegedly struck the face of the 18-year-old man when his back was turned, causing the 18-year-old to fall to the ground unconscious.
A number of witnesses came to the injured man’s aid while the other man walked out of the licensed premises onto Lee Street.
Police and Ambulance Paramedics were called to the scene and the injured man was taken to Wellington Hospital for treatment after he regained consciousness.
The 18-year-old man sustained cuts inside his cheek and soreness to both sides of his jaw.
About 3am on Saturday 31 January a 36-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wellington Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court on Monday.
