This time she has collected around 50 bags worth which will raise money for mission work overseas with the Baptist Church.
When she first began collecting the cans in 2013, she received a lot of odd looks from passers by and was dubbed “the can lady”.
Since then though many people have heard about her plight and got onboard with at least 30 locals collecting cans too.
“It isn’t unusual for me to come home and find bags of cans sitting near my garage or just over the fence.”
Local David Bower then takes the cans to Dubbo, receiving 90c per kilogram.
She said it was always a bit of fun, especially for children to go hunting for cans to recycle, not to mention the added benefit of helping the environment.
