This week darts will be played at the Federal Hotel starting at 12.30pm.
Sixteen players turned out last Sunday to play a drawn doubles round robin competition.
The top four teams went on to play for the prizes and again there were plenty of high scores hit on the day.
In the first semi-final Allan Brown and Kevin Baker took on Garth Watts and Graeme Kent. It was a hard-fought tussle with Allan and Kevin going through to the final with a two legs to one victory.
In the other semi-final Dave Stace and Alf Wilson played against Wendy and David Wilson in what was another very close match which could have gone either way. In the end Dave and Alf hit the winning double to take the win by two legs to one.
Allan Brown and Kevin Baker came up against Alf Wilson and Dave Stace in the final. These were probably the best two combined teams drawn out of the hat so nobody was surprised to see them playoff. It was a close one at that with both teams winning a leg before Allan and Kevin put it all together in the final leg to win the match by two legs to one.
This Sunday a singles event will be played with a ladies' and men's competition to be played.
- High scores from last Sunday's darts were Alf Wilson 156, 140, 100, 85; Garth Watts 140, 134, 3x100, 5x90s, 8x80s; Greg Whiteman 126, 2x100, 2x90s, 5x80s; Richard Kent 125, 120, 3x100, 4x80s; David Wilson 125, 107, 3x100, 2x90s, 10x80s; Allan Brown 125, 4x100, 3x80s; Dave Stace 2x120, 2x100, 98, 3x80s; Jason Brown 2x100, 85; Kirsty Wilson 108, 94; Tania Button 100, 2x90s, 2x80s; Carolyn Temessl 96, 82; Graeme Kent 3x80s; Parish Petrovic 2x80s; and Wendy Wilson 80.
Highest peg from last Sunday's darts went to David Wilson who hit an 84 finish.
Sorry that we didn't throw the chairs around Tibby, that's a Melbourne thing, we are a little more civilised.
It was sad to see Dave Stace in a sorry state on Sunday with his beer falling over all by itself, as the only person near it was Dave himself and his words were 'would I do that'.
No Dave you probably wouldn't, would you?
