It is the third year the school has participated in the competition, placing every time and teacher Alicia Stevenson was ecstatic, saying that after their hours of hard work it was no fluke.
With the help of teacher Jenn Turner they worked on recipes around set ingredients which the students took home to practise preparing.
"It was amazing that the kids could win a competition like that," she said.
For the group section Alanaha Nolan and Christy Simmons made the entree while Ruth Moore and Jessica Antes made the main course.
They received the judge's choice award and in the individual section Ruth Moore placed first while Jessica Antes came second.
Held at the Bathurst Entertainment Centre it was like a scene from MasterChef as the audience watched on.
Alanaha said she could understand why people on cooking shows took it so seriously when it came to creating the perfect dish but on the day the students kept their cool and stepped up to the challenge.
"This is important not only as a life skill, but to be able to cook is quite trendy at the moment with shows like MasterChef," Ms Stevenson said.
You can see more and maybe even try one of their recipes in Wednesday's edition of the Times.
