A 17-year-old man has been refused bail in Parramatta Children's court for a series of charges including setting a house on fire with his mother inside of it in Pierce Street, Wellington.

The young man from Wellington had also previously stolen a motor vehicle on the same day and was also facing two charges of breaking an apprehended violence order, intimidation, entering enclosed lands illegally and malicious damage.
He appeared by Audio Visual Link from the Wellington Correctional Centre and was remanded to appear at a date to be fixed.

A young woman has escaped injury after her car rolled over into a paddock on the Burrendong Way late on Monday afternoon.
Police are investigating the incident but they say the woman is fortunate to come out of the crash unscathed.
