Life time member of the Ulysses Motorcycle club Kim Kennerson says better awareness of motorcyclists on the road has helped stem fatalities.

According to official figures approximately two and half thousand motorcycle crashes are reported each year in NSW. They represent 6% of all road crashes, but account for 15% of all deaths and 10% of all injuries on NSW roads.
‘’The numbers appear to be improving all the time’’ Kim Kennerson said at the 2Wheels to Wellington Motorcycle Awareness event at Cameron park on Sunday. ‘’ We have a subsided training programme which helps both young and older riders. We cut across all boundaries of the community as motorcyclists these days making us a broad reaching group of people’’
Thesedays Mr Kenerson and the Ulysses club is leading the fight for the research into Arthritis. ‘’ Mnay of our members are over 40 and it is effecting so many’’ he said.
Local Ulysses member John Jannis says its why Wellington’s club has raised $3,000 to help research and presented a cheque along with money to support prostrate cancer at the Orange Health Service.
Hundreds of motorcycles lined the main street of Wellington making it a very successfull event.
Mr Kennerson who’s wife had a group of terrier dogs at the Wellington Valley Kennel club congratulated the town on its organization of both events.
