A grassroots campaign called ''Save Our Target '' has begun on Facebook with a number of locals venting their anger over the Corporate retailers closure of its business. They hit the streets to call for Westfarmers to overturn its position.

By Friday the page had more than 800 likes with people asking how they could fight for a stay of proceedings for Target. We need everyone to fight to keep Target here.

It will pressure on tonight's Wellington Business Chamber meeting where the president will call more support for local business and drive new thinking 'outside of the box for the future of the town. The president has called for the business community to come in force to help engineer a new force for the town.'
A similar type grass roots campaign to save target closing in Condobolin failed despite community meetings and a social media push.
Its understood several businesses are showing interesting in the business and there are ‘green shots’ of new start ups which include a new coffee and Tapas bar, a Thai Restaurant and a new clothes shop which locals are driving.
Tonight’s business chamber will also look at a new ‘crowd funding’ idea where local stakeholders can buy into the creation of a local shop which could replace Target.
