DUBBO: DREAM Theatre ‘Reception: The Musical’ at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre from 7pm. Cost Adult $29, Conc $26, Stud $26, Child U/14 $26 - Following its sold-out premiere season in Melbourne in May, Reception: The Musical is coming to Dubbo for one night as part of the Macquarie Credit Union DREAM Festival. A celebration of all things administration, Reception: The Musical tells the story of a receptionist who finds joy in the manic world of customer service, stationery orders and thinking on your swivel chair.
DUBBO: DREAM Festival - Lantern Parade 7.30pm to 8.30pm. DREAM Lantern Parade is an exciting display of magical lights which takes place in the Dubbo CBD and concludes at the beautiful Victoria Park.This year, the Lantern Parade will commence at the Dubbo City Library where the children and participants will walk up Talbragar Street and enter Victoria Park, at the Twilight Markets. While this spectacular show of lanterns and lights will captivate and hold the children, they are not the only ones who will be fascinated because the adults will also be wowed at the true splendour of the beautifully lit streets and park.Proudly presented by The Outlook Café
DUBBO: DREAM Festival - Twilight Markets at Victoria Park from 4:00pm to 10:00pm. DREAM Twilight Markets will again be held in Dubbo's beautiful Victoria Park, with a wide variety of pop up stalls, featuring a fantastic array of food, fashion, boutique beverages and vibrant art from Dubbo and the surrounding region. A chances to delight your senses with smells, sights, sounds, feel and tastes. The DREAM Twilight Markets offer local businesses and individuals the chance to showcase their products. DUBBO: Cricket - Last week's opening round of the Whitney Cup season produced some great matches and this weekend looks set to be no different. The match of the round looks to be Newtown, coming off a huge surprise win over Rugby, taking on Colts at Lady Cutler Number 2. In the other matches CYMS meet Souths at No. 2 Oval and Rugby take on Macquarie at No. 3 Oval. All matches start at 1pm.
DUBBO: Thirsty Merc "AAA Tour" at the Dubbo RSL Club auditorium at 7:30pm. Cost: $35 Pre Sale ~ $40 at the door. Iconic Australian rockers Thirsty Merc mark a 10-year milestone since the release of their self-titled double platinum debut LP with the announcement of their Acoustic Anniversary Album and National tour. Dubbed AAA the album is a collection of acoustic interpretations of fan favourites including ‘20 Good Reasons’, ‘In The Summertime’, ‘Someday Someday’, and ‘Mousetrap Heart’. These new recordings showcase the band’s exemplary level of musicianship and hearing these well-known tunes with acoustic production highlights the world-class song writing ability of Rai Thistlethwayte.
DUBBO: Cricket - One of the biggest rivalries in local sport resumes on Sunday with Dubbo taking on Parkes in Western Premier League cricket. the two sides have a bitter history, often meeting in the final, and on Sunday they meet at Lady Cutler 1. Dubbo has named an immensely strong team with a number of notable inclusions while Parkes always produce in the big games. The match starts at 10am.
DUBBO: Golf - One of the most popular events at Dubbo Golf Club returns on Sunday with the annual Bullseye Tournament being played again. Described as the Twenty20 form of golf, the course is transformed with all holes pars three and there are a number of prizes up for grabs, particularly if you manage to hit a hole-in-one. Friday, October 31: Old Dubbo Gaol Halloween Horror Night. Session 1- 7pm, Session 2 - 10pm Cost: $15 - $25 - Book online for a discount. Get your friends together for a terrifying walk through our Haunted Gaol House. If you make it out alive, grab your blankets and pillows and huddle together and watch one of our Outdoor Cinema Sessions. We have a family session and an adults only session so book online now for our early-bird discount and be prepared to be scared. Costumes are encouraged and prizes for best dressed will be given on the night.
Friday, October 31: Wayne Scott Kermond in Candy Man. Held at Dubbo Regional Theatre at 8:00pm. Cost: Adult $58, Conc $53, Group 8+ $48, Stud $30, Child U/14 $25. A high energy, sophisticated song and dance experience that celebrates the life and music of Sammy Davis Jr.: the ultimate entertainer. Wayne takes the audience on a journey, paralleled to his own, through the legendary career of the ultimate entertainer in vaudeville, Las Vegas nightclubs, concert halls, musicals, film and television. He is joined on stage by a 7-piece Big Band, a cast of Sydney Musical Theatre Dancers, plus a junior choir and senior dance students handpicked from the dance schools in Dubbo.
