Dubbo PCYC president Ron Steer says Wellington in the longer term can "stand alone" again and run its own affairs.

"We are assuming the management of the Wellington PCYC out of Dubbo for two days initially and our youth worker will be in place but we need the community to get in support the club," Mr Steer said.
"Ideally we would like to get the PCYC in Wellington back into a five-day operation but if there's no community support it will waste everyone's time."
The PCYC said the support of the state member and the government and it has vowed to back it.

Events will be run on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons for now to back big programs in archery and futsal, judo which have recorded impressive results while the club has been in a virtual hiatus.
"I will be coming here with my manager from Dubbo to talk with the community about the future of the PCYC in your town and how we can raise money and get everyone involved again," he said.
"People need to know the club is going on and there's a strong future for it but its the community who will ensure that."
