What a day for the Wellington Golf Club at Thursday's Western Districts Finals Day at Wentworth Golf Club Orange with Cheryl Royal taking out the B Grade Stableford Event with a magnificent 40pts - three more then any other player on the day. Not a bad effort from a player who hasn't played for nearly a month and on an exceptionally challenging course.

While her representative club mates - Denise, Marie, Gayle and Sue advised they only went for the ride and two apologise to Cheryl for thinking she was only having them on before presentation - that smile sometimes is true.
West Wyalong (who defeated Wellington) went onto to defeat Mudgee in the final of the Pennants Event 4 games to 1 (with all except one game going to the 17th or 18th holes).
What an achievement as they haven't been in a final or won since 1971.
