At St Mary's Catholic school on Friday children celebrated Mercy Day which honours the sisters of mercy who once taught in the school.
Children made a cardboard church which paid tribute to the sisters.
Meanwhile preparations are moving well for the 100th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone at St Patrick's Church at 11am on Sunday followed by a smorgasbord. Enid Traynor at the parish is taking bookings for the lunch.
