Golfers were greeted with beautiful weather at Wellington Golf Club for the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club sponsored A and B Grade Monthly Medals last Saturday.

Wellington Golf Club welcomes Doug Ney back to the club and hopes he enjoys his golf as much as rest of the players.

On September 27, Round 4 of the Barman Trophy and Individual Stableford will be played.
Wellington Golf Club Footy Tipping presentation will be held on this Sunday September 21 and will begin at about 11.30am. Get your money in and come out and enjoy what will be a great day for those that were involved.
Keep these dates in mind for October. Wellington Mowers and Chainsaws par 3 Championships on October 12, the start of the Wellington Golf Club's Men's Championships stating on October 18 sponsored by Rhino Promotions, plus the start of the 72 hole handicap sponsored by Peter Payne and Steven McCarroll and the qualifying of the Harold Baker Bookmaking Matchplay Championships.
Last Saturday's events were the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club Monthly Medal in A and B Grades plus Round 10 of the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club Pointscore and Round 10 of the John Gersbach Putting Competition.
This Saturday's events include a 4Ball Aggregate Stableford plus the President v Captain day.
Sponsors for the day are John Donnelly and Kevin Reid, and many thanks to them.
A Grade Monthly Medal winner with a great round of golf was Bob Ridley with a 68nett.
A Grade runner-up also with a good score was Kevin Reid of 69nett. Kevin also took out the best round for the GSOH.
B Grade Monthly Medal winner on a countback with an excellent round of golf was Peter Payne with a 69nett.
Runner-up with a 69nett was Vic Payne, who was a little disappointed, but he did win the lottery ticket off Paul which cheered him up a little.
Ball competition winners were Bob Ridley 68nett, Kevin Reid 69nett, Peter Payne 68nett, Vic Payne 68nett, Col Arnold 70nett, James Cusack 70nett, David King 71nett, Josh Bullock 71nett, Ron Cowan 72nett, Lewis McCarthy 72nett, John Gersbach 72nett and Paul Hannelly 73nett.
Ron Stubberfield Terrific Tee Shots, on the third James Cusack, on the eighth Peter Payne, on the 14th David Naveau, on the 16th Peter Payne.
McCarthy-Staggs Tiling nearest the pin in three shots on the 18th hole went to Elton Keeffe.
McDonald's Biggest Whack in A Grade went to Mitchell Cusack and in B Grade it went to Rod Irwin.
Brent's NFI award winner this week, who had an 84nett, was, that's right can't name them as it may offend them.
Barman Trophy after three rounds has Robert Baker, Geoff Walker. Kevin Reid, Paul Hannelly, Garth Watts and Bob Ridley all very close to the top at the moment, but there are plenty of golfers just behind them who still have a big chance of winning this prestigious trophy.
