"I've been away for a while and it is always lovely to come back - especially to Wellington Public School because this is where I started," she said.
She currently lives in Canberra where she plays for the Tradies Meteors women's national cricket league.
"If it wasn't for the teachers at this school I probably wouldn't have excelled at cricket," she said. Growing up it was a dream to play for Australia, but at the moment she says she is still focused on the ACT.
"I'm doing what I can for the team and developing myself as a player. If I play well enough to play for Australia I would be more than honoured but for now I am focusing on the ACT," she said.
She had some success off the field last week winning the ACT Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year at the ACT Education Excellence awards which she won while studying a Certificate III in Horticulture and was nominated by her teacher for balancing her skills of study, work and her cricket career.
