Acting senior sergeant Brad Edwards says police enforced patrols of hot spots in the area.
On Monday morning a 45-year-old Wellington man was charged with having an indictable quantity of the drug 'ice', amounting to about 48 grams.
His arrest came after police pulled over the man's van when he was heading into Gisborne Lane at 1.45am.
It is alleged the man threatened to abuse officers and he has been charged with an indictable quantity of 'ice', possession, the custody of a knife and goods in custody which police believe to be stolen antique coins.
He has been bailed to appear before Wellington court on November 4.
On Saturday night police arrested a 50-year-old woman travelling in a white Toyota through Bengala Crescent.
When officers stopped her they searched the car and found a quantity of heroin and 'ice'.
Police expect to lay charges.
In another incident on Friday night a 50-year-old Bourke man was taken into custody following an accident on the Mitchell Highway.
Police recovered 57.2 grams of 'ice' with a street value of $25,000.
The man was already on bail for drug related charges in the Darling River Local Area Command.
He has been charged with the possession of an indictable quantity of the drug 'ice' and was refused bail.
Senior Sergeant Edwards says police are determined to continue their investigations into the seedy world of drugs in the town.
"If the public has information on drugs or dealings, contact us at the police station or Crimestoppers," he said.
