"Using local meat, local butchers and local produce to make exciting food is what I am all about," she said.
Ms Sutton worked with local butcher Rodney Dowton in creative cooking demonstrations held at the SRS Merino Sheep Field day held at Wellington Showground. Before packed crowds the pair showcased the values of combining the best of local produce.
"The merino is the ultimate dual purpose sheep," Mr Dowton said.
SRS merino breeder and one of the organisers of the field day Norm Smith said the event which attracted farmers from as far as Western and Southern Australia was again proof the "brand was getting out there".
"Farmers have swapped ideas and talked about the future of the merino here," he said.
Mr Smith said the cooking demonstrations were a hit. "Merino lamb has a superb flavour and we want to get that image out there about its dual purpose qualities," he said.
