Hello everyone. A pat on the back for those players who braved the windy, cold weather on Saturday to keep the game on. Well done.

Warriors (Dubbo Comp)
Under 11s
The never-say-die Warriors played in Wellington in not ideal soccer conditions. They hung in to finish with a two-all draw against SDW Glory.
Geert kindly filled in for the regular manager who was on other sibling duties. Thanks Geert.
Coming off a loss from the previous week, the young Warriors were hungry for a better showing. A few of the senior players were unavailable so the spots were capably filled by some new recruits. Great work girls.
The Glory woke the scorers with a goal in the first quarter of the game but Nick Redfern replied when he received the ball in the 18-yard box and curled the pill around the goalie to round out the first half at 1-1.
We still seem to have trouble pressuring the other mid-fielders and limiting their chance to send long balls into the attack zone. The backs once again punched above their weight and Hew Jones came away with the player of the game with his dogged defence.
Glory scored again and it came down to the wire. With about one minute left on the clock, Nick received a well-weighted ball lobbed in from Tom Kiss.
Nick beat a defender and the goalie and pushed the ball into the back of the net to send the Glory home with a two-all draw.
Great work Warriors.
This coming week we road trip to Dubbo for a 2.45pm kick-off at Lady Cutler 5. Please be there at 2.30pm at the latest.
Under 15s
Warriors 15s played the competition's number two team SDW Hurricanes and suffered a big loss 0-7.
Warriors looked good early in the game and held the Hurricanes for the first 15 minutes or so but once Hurricanes began to score they did not stop. Wellington never gave up and had a number of shots just miss the net late in the game.
Ryan Miller was rewarded for his tireless work in the backs, being the recipient of the "Golden Boot" this week.
The Warriors 15s have just missed the semis (by one point) so this was their last Dubbo comp game.
This team (less four older players) have been nominated to compete on behalf of the Dubbo Association in the NSW Under 14s "Champion of Champions" tournament.
Round one will be in Dubbo on September 14 so training continues.
Seniors
Women's
The women's team drew 1-1 with EDU this week in what was a less than stellar performance from the Wello ladies.
The entire second period was played in EDU's half but Wellington's passes, through balls and shots could not find their mark. EDU's scrambling defence kept all but one goal out of the net.
The women play Newtown this week in their "do-or-die" semi-final match so we hope they "give it to the Dubbos". Good luck girls.
Men's 2nd Division
A narrow loss to Macquarie United by 3-4 ends their season.
Men's 1st Division
A loss to RSL 78s by 2-5 also ends the season for the men's first grade.
Let's get out and support the women's team - 9am Sunday in Dubbo (Lady Cutler 3).
