The organiser of the Gungie Police Origin series Zeke Shaw says Saturday's presentation will recognise people who contributed to the matches, but also their dedication to preventing crime.

"Inspector Scott Tanner, Inspector Gemini Bakos, District Court judge Gordon Lerve will be there to present medallions for the dedication people have shown to being part of this community and bring about the connection of police to the community and the prevention of crime," he said.
"This series shows we are united," the local Aboriginal liaison officer said.
"The community wants to work together, business, agencies, locals all putting in the hard yards for the benefit of all."
The event begins at 10am at the PCYC in Wellington.
