The community has thanked long time volunteer Wendy Blake for her more than 34 years of dedication to the WEllington Eisteddfod which ended with a spectacular grand concert at the Civic centre before a big crowd.

‘’Over the years people who I have guided have gone onto the big things from this Eisteddfod and by being part of it you just never know where you end up’’ she said.
‘’The speech, drama, literature are so important for life and education’’ the highly acclaimed former television news reader told the crowd.
Eisteddfod president Kevin Mason thanked the hard working committee ‘’ I have worked on many council committees as a councillor and many community organizations and this Eisteddfod far excels them I don’t mind saying.’’
‘’The volunteers, the sponsors, the record entries, the involvement of our community, the young very talented performers and their devoted mums and dads have made for a wonderful event’’ Mr Mason said.
Wellington’s mayor Cr Rod Buhr said the event had exceeded all expectations.
‘’This Eisteddfod now rivals Dubbo and Orange as one of the regions best. I congratulate everybody on this outstanding event’’
From music to dance, poetry to piano the Grand Concert brought down the curtain on a big three weeks for organizers the 38th Wellington Eisteddfod was the town’s best.
