Wellington Golf Club saw a smaller than usual field of 31 golfers take to the greens on an absolutely beautiful Winter`s day, but there should be plenty more golfers there this weekend with quite a few birthdays being celebrated.

A Special meeting for all Members of the Wellington Golf Club has been called for this Saturday the 2nd of August and will be held after the Men`s golf has concluded which should be around 6pm that night. For any further information about the Meeting contact the Secretary of the Wellington Golf at anytime.
All Wellington Golf Club Memberships and Shed fee`s are now due and any new member`s thinking of joining the Wellington Golf Club are more than welcome to come out and join in the great fun that is golf and the camaraderie that is Wellington Golf. All memberships can be paid in full at the bar at anytime. Although there has been a small increase put on this year which now makes it $475 for your membership for the 2014/15 year, green fee`s have been dropped to help all members keep on playing golf.
Von Zipper best dressed golfer last week was Ray Fabar who looked splendid in his attire, which was a practice run for Grand Final day in group 11.
Coming events for August are D and J Rural Supplies Mixed Foursome`s Championships on the 10th and will be played over 27 holes, Round 4 of the Barmen Trophy on the 16th, Semi Finals of the Cornish Trophy on the 23rd and the coring of the greens on the 31st.
Last Saturday`s event was a 4Ball Ransom with Elton Keeffe and Malcolm Payne kindly sponsoring the day.
This Saturday`s event`s are the August Monthly Medal in A and B Grades plus round 9 of the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club Pointscore as well as round 8 of the John Gersbach Putting Competition.
Sunday see`s the playing of the Central West District Golf Association`s Grass Greens Championships which are to be played at Wellington Golf Club. The tee`s are open from 8am and they close at 10am with 18 holes to be played, a fee of $30 to play which includes lunch in that price. Scratch and Stableford events are to be played on the day.
Winner`s of the 4Ball Ransom were Luke Milgate and David Naveau who combined well to take out the event by a comfortable margin with 67pts.
Runner`s up were Brian Kiss and Rod Irwin but only just with 59pts.
