The Junior Secondary Girls Team won the Years 7-8 Regional Qualifier Carnival in Dubbo at the Riverside Ovals.
The carnival hosted schools from Coolah, Mudgee, St Johns, Dubbo South, Delroy College, Dunedoo, Dubbo Christian, Parkes and Narromine.
The girls defeated Coolah, Mudgee, Delroy and Dunedoo to win their pool outright and go into the semi-finals.
The girls then took on St Johns. In a hard-fought game the result came out 2-2. An extra time drop off was played and with both teams down to four a side Tatum Roberts dived over to win.
In the grand final St Mary's then came up against Mudgee High School. The game was extremely tight and hard fought with neither team giving an inch.
With five minutes to go in the final Brianna Tappet crashed over.
It was not over yet with the girls then holding out Mudgee until the siren to win the title and now the chance to go to Sydney to contest the State Carnival.
"The victory comes down to the girls, they fought so hard to win this carnival today and they never gave up," a school spokesperson said.
