President of the Wellington Garden Group, Di Whittle said the tour was a good opportunity to hear about some of the developments council was planning with the town beautification, as well as finding out a bit about the history of the park.-
The garden group even shared their thoughts on the top ten tough plants for a Wellington's climate.-
"Every garden is different, even one out of town will be different to something local, but what grows well in your neighbour's garden will give you a good indication of what will grow in yours," Di Whittle said.-
The garden group meet every month and next month they will be going out to the Burrendong Arboretum to learn about native plants.-
