"We have played really well with six players missing and I think we can win the competition. Some of these players will return soon.
"We play Cyms on Sunday and Macquarie the week after and both matches are in Dubbo. Some say that's a tall order but we only need luck to run our way and the Cowboys can be champions. We are in the best position for many years to win this," he said.
"We are encouraging our supporters to come out in force Sunday at Apex," Mr McQuillan said.
Wellington captain coach Justin Toomey White is on top of the try scorers in Group 11 with 19 tries this season.
