The match wasn't spectacular but it didn't lack intensity, some big hits and fluent attack set up an enthralling contest.
Geurie slid into the lead early. Prop Nick McGrath barging over after a lopsided penalty count gave the Goats plenty of football.
James Cusack got Wellington back in the match scoring on the left and before half time five eighth Jake Newman was on the end of some good lead up work to give the Redbacks a 12-7 buffer.
It wasn't a score a team needed going into a finals and Wellington now with more possession rolled the dice second rower Dan Gersbach surged over off some powerful forwards running and nippy flanker Nick Evision grabbed a double.
Geurie with their captain Luke Harvey celebrating 100 matches never gave up and a couple of times saw openings but in the end a Mitchell Cusack off a kick thru down the sideline was enough for Wellington to sail home for a comfortably assuring an elimination finals match against Dubbo Black on Sunday week.
