Wellington Bowling Club sponsored Mixed Doubles Championships will be played on Sunday May 11 with nominations and a $10 fee per player closing April 28.

Top 5 in the High score competition sees David Wilson and Alf Wilson 14, Scott Dutfeild 13, Garth Watts and Mick MacMaster 12.
A special mention for Garth Watts, 5 points in 6 darts is not going to win you a lot of dart games, even your doubles partner is worried after hearing that story.
The Wellington Bowling Club Cracker Jacks were hoping to take the smile off the Wellington Hotel T.B.Gs and ruin there unbeaten run and they almost did that. The doubles were taken out by the T.B.Gs with David Wilson-Richard Kent beating Trever Messenger-Ken Fairley 2-0 and Allan Brown-Greg Whiteman beating Jason Cornish-Cindy Croker 2-0. It was a different story in the singles with the Cracker Jacks putting it to the T.B.Gs with Ken Fairley defeating Greg Whiteman 2-1, Jason Cornish lost to Allan Brown 1-2, Trever Messenger lost to Terry Kyle 2-1 and Cindy Croker beat Richard Kent 2-0. The Cracker Jack`s won the teams game but fell just short to go down by 4 games to 3 to the Wellington Hotel T.B.Gs.
The Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club Fillies who are still looking for there first win of the year were taking on the Wellington Bowling Club Jack High`s who needed the win to stay in the top four and it was a close encounter as the teams game decided the winner for the night. The doubles games were shared as were the singles, Fillies names first, Vicki Button-Wendy Wilson lost to Mick MacMaster-Jack Charlton 1-2 and Kirsty Wilson-Jenny Barnes defeated Dave Stace-Bill Meharge 2-1. Singles results were Teena Hill defeated Mick Buttsworth 2-0, Vicki Button defeated Bill Meharge 2-1, Wendy Wilson lost to Dave Stave 2-1 and Kirsty Wilson lost to Mick MacMaster 0-2. In a tight team`s game the Wellington Bowling Club Jack Highs just came out on top to finish the night with the victory by 4 games to 3.
This match on paper should have been a close one but was one sided in the end saw the Federal Hotel Top Cats taking on the Central Hotel Wood Cutters. The doubles games were shared with the Top Cats players first, Tim Dutfeild-Jason Robbins lost to Eugene Spicer-Rod Hampstead 0-2 and Graeme Kent-Matt Parish lost to Parish Petrovic-Garth Watts 0-2. It was in the singles that the Top Cats scratched out win with Jason Brown defeating Rod Hampstead 2-0, Graeme Kent beat Eugene Spicer 2-0, Jason Robbins beat Garth Watts 2-0 and Tim Dutfeild lost to Parish Petrovic 1-2 and to top off the night they also won the teams game to record a 5 games to 2 victory.
In another one-sided match saw the Federal Hotel Wolfpack rip apart the Wellington Hotel Souths team after loosing the first doubles but winning every game after that. In the doubles games Scott Dutfeild-Trent Staggs lost to Mal Nunn-Margie Mills 0-2 and Nikkie ball-Daryl Brown beat Tanya Button-Gloria Smith 2-1. The singles games saw Alf Wilson beat Mal Nunn 2-0, Scott Dutfeild beat Tanya Button 2-0, Daryl Brown beat Gloria Smith 2-1 and Trent Staggs beat Margie Mills 2-1 and to top it off they won the teams game to record a 6 games to 1 win.
