Matt Hansen of Inland Waterways will present a cheque and talk on the re-snagging fish rehabilitation happening on the Macquarie River before Wellington Council’s environmental sustainability meeting tonight.
The rehab of the Macquarie River fishing system has been a subject which at times has caused hot debate in council over funding of the project.
The central catchment authority will also present to council tonight on its action plan for the future in regard to salinity and water quality.
The council and the CMA have long worked together on several projects.
Meanwhile council candidate Rod Buhr talked with the Men’s Shed recently about the future of the LGA and is pictured here after his talk. Mr Buhr is one of the people seeking election in September.
