Friday night all eyes will be on Wellington’s Joel Galea as he faces Sydney boxer Dylan Emery in a welterweight bout in Campsie.
“Dylan is fighting out of Billy Hussein’s Body Punch Gym, he is currently ranked 30 from 43 in his division he has had two fights for two wins and will be coming in at over 10 centimetres taller than me but I am not concerned,’’ Galea said.
The Wellington boxer has moved into the top 20 in the rankings.
“I am fighting out of the Hardnox Boxing gym in Wellington and was approached with less than two weeks to prepare for the bout but I have been in regular training very eager to take the opportunity,” he said.
“I am going into the fight with a positive attitude, I know that regardless of a win or a loss this is a great step in my professional career and I will try my best to bring home a win.
“I would also love to think that my home town are supporting me from here so if you have pay TV the fights start at 8pm on Fox Sports it would be great if you could tune in.”
