Redbacks confident of win

The Redbacks, despite playing an under strength Mudgee second side last week “were full of running” according to winger David Grant who says Wellington can “take it to” the Wombats tomorrow.

Wellington won the match on forfeit but still played and supplied the Mudgee 2 side with some players and eventually won comfortably 55-nil.

“We began the game well and our forwards were driving hard.

“The backs also got momentum and we were happy with the work-out, especially because we were facing last year’s grand finalists,” he said.

Grant himself scored a try out wide after the Redbacks moved the ball to the right and his boot was “on song” soon after.

Redbacks’ coach Chris George will be impressing on his side that fitness and defence wins matches, and as Mudgee has also a fast-flowing game, a high score is expected.
