Three games of minor singles were played Saturday with Trevor Messenger defeating Roger Simpson 31-28 while Allan Manning beat Keith O’Grady.
The game of the day between John Dewar and Doug Thomas was a neck and neck struggle with no more than two shots separating them for most of the match up.
It all led to a grand stand finish. At 34 ends it was 29-28 to Doug, end 36 saw the score at 30all but John made a last ditch effort to win 31-30, a thriller.
One game of men’s pairs, Daniel Perkins and Peter Baker too good for Kevin Stanley and Trevor Elemes 25-12. Daniel and Peter will now play John Dewar and Ron Oxenham in the final at a later date.
Wednesday 16 players on the green, Ted Roberts and Tom McInnes winners over Eddie Stanley and Bill Meharg. Michael Smith haircut was not on the jackpot went to Charlie Horne and John Dewar, raffle to Ron Oxenham.
The 100 club was drawn Wednesday Roy Kippax, Bruce Bourke and Tom McInnes were winners.
There will be more of these ongoing to assist our Grade 5 pennant team with expenses for our trip to Bomaderry on August 4.
