With the long weekend upon us there will be no soccer for the Wellington and Dubbo competitions this weekend with the NSW Country Cup challenge, with Brianna Trappett, Bridget Campbell, Shania Sarsfield and Maggie Smith playing in the under 12 girls challenge in Bathurst. Ngahla Talbot will be playing in Nowra for the under 15s challenge, good luck to all of them in their endeavours.

Last week’s games report
Under 6’s
Nanima Ninjas (I) 9 defeated the Blue Tongues (H) 2 Great Spirit was shown by all the kids. With only four players on each team showing up they all had lots of fun and plenty of involvement in the rain. Letiah Toomey (4) scored her first goals, with Callee Black (4) Wade Hynch and Brock Stanley (1) showing plenty of flair too.
Lilly Fitzgibbon, Jacob Everett, (2) Isaiah and Mason Hill.
Devils (C) played a fun game with the Lions (L) and a few extras with kids away with the weather.
Under 8’s
Buffalos (D) 0 were defeated by the Scorpions (C) 1 in a very close game with Rusty Taylor (1) scoring the only goal of the match.
Stripee Strikers (E) 7 defeated the Mad Dogs (F) 5, seeing Striker’s Toby Maroulis (7) have a fantastic game. Hayley Watts was strong with Phoebe Poole and Toby Stevens playing well in goals. It was great to see kids turning up.
Blues (A) 5 defeated the Red Flames (B) 3. With few players turning up Blues helped out the Flames having some great fun with Preston (2) and Rhys Conn (5) scoring. Thank you to the parents who brought their kids out in this weather, great commitment.
Under 10’s
Purple Ferrari (C) 0 were defeated by the Ozzies (D) 7 with Ferrrari’s Jordon Elliott, Aidan Johnson, Mark Walsh, Cody Wotton and Arki Lewsam showing up and playing in the rain. Aussies Will Eather (4) and Tyreek Frail were strong up front.

Red Dragons (E)1 were defeated by Argentina (F) 3 with Alex Brien (3) and James Glawson having strong games.
Wellington Tigers (A) 1 were defeated by Blue Fire (B) 9 with George Parkes (1) outstanding for the Tigers. Blue Fire’s Nick Redfern (5) Jade Widdison (2) Charlie Pascoe and Shameakah Riley (2) all played well.
Under 12’s
Chelsea (A) 7 defeated Purple Flames (D) 1 in a fun game with only five players for Chelsea Flames. Sam Frankham (2) and Kate Parkes helped out in a great team effort with Shania Sarsfield (3) and Hamish Poole (1) finding the target.
Team B (B) had a 6-all draw with the Bumble Bees (C) low on numbers this week with Charlie Wilson (2) and CLaude Lewsam (4) strong in attack for team B. Bumble Bees’ Bridget Campbell (1) Joe McClure (1) Brianna Trappett (1) and Jeremiah Wilson (3) were all strong in attack with Duygu Arici and Will Cosier trying hard.
OPENS
Sea Eagles (A) 1 were defeated by the Green Machine (D) 4 with Sea Eagles’ Ryan Goninan (1) strong up front being well supported by Kayla and Malina Skelly. Yamirra Talbot (2) and Brad Bowman led the way to victory for Green Machine with Matt Duttfield and Ashley Giddings supporting well.
Skittles (B) 6 defeated Black and Gold (C) 2, with Ngahla Talbot (3) Brad Reid (2) and Anthony Glawson strong in attack. Black and Gold’s George Morley (1) and Brandon Carter were strong in attack (1) with Rhianna Sutherland and Erin Meluish working hard in goals.
Wellington Warriors Under 13’s
Strong win for Wellington’s U13 Warriors team against the Dubbo RSL Lions in last week’s U13s match.
Lions’ defence was well organised early in the match and presented some good resistance to the unrelenting Warriors attack, but the Warriors showed great teamwork and steadily broke down the defence with some good passing on show.
Warriors began to dominate the match in the second half and by the full-time whistle had built an unassailable 5-0 lead.
Yamirra Talbot received the ‘man of the match’ award this week and Matt Dutfield showed terrific passing and teamwork when he was released from his goalkeeping role during the second half.
Goal scorers were Alex Brien 2, Aiden Carr 1, Claude Lewsam 1, RSL Lions own goal 1.
Wellington Warriors Under 17’s
The Warriors under 17’s went down to SASS Meteors 1-5 in a tough battle for the team with Brad Reid scoring for the Warriors.
They tried hard in wet conditions with Rhianna Sutherland and Malina Skelly our youngest girls in the team never giving up and both having outstanding games.
Tom Redfern made some great saves in goal with some great defence from Brad Bowman.
All Age Men’s
The Wellington Lions 5 defeated EDU 2 with the Lions roaring up the competition table.
