William Eather broke a 12 year record at the Wellington Public School athletics carnival last week beating Tyrane Ryan’s record in the 100m boy’s sprint with 16.13 seconds.
Participation was up this year and Mitchell house won the carnival by 20 points, followed by Oxley house, Evans and Sturt.
Champion of the junior boys was William Eather, and the junior girls was Harriet Taylor.
The 11 years champions were Elizabeth Eather and Jarrad Scott while the senior years champions were Cooper McGeorge and Bridget Campbell.
Teacher Michelle Eather thanked Kate Boland and Loretta Brien for their help and support throughout the day.
Next term students who placed first and second will compete in Dubbo, twice if they make it through the first round and then go through to state.
