George McQuillan believes there’s nothing better than giving blood.
“This is my 110th donation over 30 years. I help out because it gives back to the community,” he said.
“It doesn’t take much to do this,” he said after giving blood at the mobile van in Wellington’s Coles and Woolworths car park.
“My wife had a (transfusion) fifteen years ago, and I am keen on supporting this,” Mr McQuillan said.
Red Cross nurse Rosalie Coelho was impressed with the local turnout “More than 45 booked in here today which kept us busy all day,” she said.
Others came, regulars to the Wellington blood bank site. All four have given blood for a combined century.
