Artists who entered their work in the Wellington Show might have the opportunity to see it take pride of place at Kimbell’s Bakery.
Manager Donna-lee King has announced that winners of the sections will be allowed to exhibit their work in her shop for six months.
“Hopefully it will give the local community the opportunity to take more pride in their local art,” Ms King said.
“Putting your work out there can be great for the esteem of local artists because they are putting a product of their imagination and soul out there.”
Ms King hopes that by showcasing Wellington art in the bakery, people who travel will stop by and consider buying it or spending more time in Wellington.
“There are wonderful landscapes in this area, we will probably find that has been the inspiration for a lot of the works.
