Wellington High School’s Daniel Perkins (pictured) recently competed at the Clubs NSW Games in Wollongong.
“He played strongly all weekend and was very impressive, playing consistently throughout all of his matches,” head lawn bowls coach of Grenfell Ross Hunter said.
“On the first day Daniel skipped the fours to a win and followed this up with a win in the triples, where he also played skip.”
Daniel Perkins started his scholarship with the Western Region Academy of Sport in November.
Since then he has attended monthly training with Ross Hunter of Grenfell, as well as strength and condition training and education sessions.
The WRAS squad is scheduled to play a test against the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) under 18s squad in Grenfell in August and Daniel is training with this in sight.
