One of the biggest aspects of the Wellington Show is the horse events and this year is no exception.
Local events on Friday will kick off the Show.
There will be primarily for junior competitors from aged from under eight through to 17 years, although there will be classes for adult riders.
On Saturday, May 12, there will be six rings, for riding and led horses, in hack classes, harness, stock horses and miniatures.
There will also be unofficial showjumping open on both days.
Height classes in this section begin at 65cm through to 1150cm.
While the horse events are an old favourite at Wellington Show, a fairly new feature is the Yard Dog Trials.
This is open to anyone who is NSWYDA– affiliated, with the exception of the ‘encourage’ class.
This event adds an exciting dimension to the Show.
Home to the Guinness World Record for Speed Shearing, Wellington Show will also feature shearers of the finest calibre.
Competing for another of our edge of your seat events will be the woodchopping.
Proudly run by the Central Tablelands Axemen’s Association, this event features the four standing block and four underhand block events. This will be sure to impress the most seasoned showgoer.
So whether you’re preparing entries, or looking forward to another great event, see you at the Wellington Show!
