New lighting at Bodangora’s air strip near Wellington will be installed next month, according to the Council’s Technical Services director Owen Johns. He was answering a question at a recent Wellington Council meeting about the new lighting from Councillor Rex Turner.
It’s understood traffic at the Bodangora airport may, in the future, increase because of possible mining activity nearby.
There was also discussion at the council meeting about the air strip being ‘torn up’ by a recent drag meeting there at Easter.
Cr Kevin Mason said he’d heard reports the hot rods had torn the air strip “to pieces”.
Mr Johns said he would investigate the matter and take a look at the strip.
