Mrs Jones has been appointed the Lions Club disaster alert chairperson after her award winning job with the relief efforts for those affected by the Coonabaraban fires.
"Lions Australia have already donated $10,000 to the fire appeal and we are now working to assist families with food, clothing and other necessities," she said.
"I have already been in touch with (Blue Mountains emergency recovery co ordinator) Phil Koperberg for the fires and I have talked with mayors and council general managers to establish what we can do to help."
Mr Koperberg said his priorities were to co-ordinate federal and state relief for the hundreds affected including a one-stop shop for residents, to facilitate the payment of insurance claims and to co-ordinate utilities and services responses.
Mrs Jones said the Lions club’s across the district would work closely with Mr Koperberg.
"Our job is to back up the communities in all these areas, our district covers the Blue Mountains to near Bourke.
"There are 53 districts that can assist communities," she said.
