RDA Orana Chief Executive Felicity Taylor-Edwards said the wide ranging report is the first of its type produced in the western region.
"It will give the region a kind of state of play about where the future economic opportunities lie," she said.
"It gives evidence of what kinds of skills our local government areas need to move forward and also what the future labour needs are."
Mrs Edwards says with the assistance of the Western Regional Institute the analysis showcased agriculture as one of the keys to boosting Wellington's economy which recent figures showed produces more than $80million.
"It also looked at opportunities where value can be added to it," Ms Taylor-Edwards said.
The report also said the food and beverage and tourism and hospitality industries were strong opportunities for the Wellington economy.
The 200 page report covers a region from Mudgee and Gulgong to Bourke, Walgett and Brewarrina.
Wellington Business Chamber president Ian Law who was yet to see the report was pleased with some of the early details.
"We really believe agriculture is an undersold area of the economy for Wellington. It's why we recently showcased our prime lamb during an auction promotion at Springfest," he said.
The chamber will hold its annual general meeting on October 21 and there the report will be discussed, also on the agenda is how business can be involved in the Restart Cobbora Transition fund.
The MPs involved in the fund distribution of the remaining $16 million are urging the business community to be part of the big picture debate on how the money will be distributed.
Dunedoo began the round of community engagement over that fund, the chairman, Member for Dubbo Troy Grant, told the Times Wellington will have a meeting where business leaders and the community will be able to discuss projects.
Infrastructure NSW have said the money distributed to local government areas would have to inject money into the economy and produce new employment prospects for the region.
RDA Orana recently brought together key stakeholders across government, education and training, business and industry to develop a shared, comprehensive regional workforce planning and development strategy.
