Last Saturday’s event was a 4 Ball Aggregate Stableford plus the final of the Cornish Trophy as well with Norm Royal and Neil Hollow kindly donating the prize for the winners of the day.
This Saturday’s events are the August Monthly Medal in A and B Grade plus round nine of the Frank and Jeune Gersbach Pointscore Trophy.
This week the Wellington Soldiers’ Memorial Club has kindly donated the prizes.

The final of the Cornish Trophy was played between Robert Baker and Gary Holding who took on Lewis Payne and Clint Ridley in a close affair that was all square after nine holes. This was when Robert and Gary made their move to finish over the top of Lewis and Clint by a margin of three up with two to play. Congratulations to the winners and the runner-up for making the final and many thanks to Peter and Marie Cornish for sponsoring this prestigious trophy.
Winners of last Saturday’s 4 Ball Aggregate Stableford were Col Arnold and Barry Jeffery who combined brilliantly to run away with the prize easily with 74pts.
Runners-up with 68pts on a count back were Gary Holding and Robert Baker.

The Ron Stubberfield Toyota Terrific Tee Shot on the 3rd Ben McCarthy, on the 8th Col Arnold, on the 14th Steven McCarroll, on the 16th Robert Baker.
McCarthy-Staggs Tiling nearest the pin in three shots on the 5th hole was taken out by Lewis Payne who put it 82cm away from the hole.
McDonalds Biggest Whack in A Grade went to Luke Brydon and in B Grade it was taken out by Paul Hannelly.
Those players who think they may have won a longest drive voucher please collect them as they are building up.
The Bolo’s Excavations Bradman Award went to Sam Brennan and Bob Ridley who found the course the hardest of all the golfers who played last Saturday to record only 49pts combined, great round boys.
Draw for round three of the Kiss Trophy sees Gary Cusack v Mitchell Cusack, Luke Brydon v Peter Payne, David Naveau v Brian Kiss, Brent Eather v Wayne Lang, Kevin Athanasiou v Robert Baker, Mal Scott v Gary Holding, Ben McCarthy v Josh Bullock, Neil Hollow v David East.
Round three of the Kiss Trophy matches must be played by August 10.
Handicap changes from previous round are as follows, Barry Jeffery 21 to 20, Kevin Reid 11 to 12, Clint Ridley 2 to 3, Norm Royal 14 to 13.
The Von Zipper best- dressed golfer this week was a close affair but in the end Gary Holding swaggered into the club and that put him over the top to take out the award.
Twin Rivers Printing Maurie Lay Memorial Clubman of the Year Trophy top five sees David Naveau 950pts, David Wilson 931pts, Peter Cornish 858pts, Robert Baker 856pts, Peter Payne 838pts.
Top six in the Barmen Trophy after three rounds sees David Naveau 106pts, Peter Payne 105pts, Garth Watts 99pts, Tim Parker 96pts, Steven McCarroll and Geoff Walker 95pts.
A picture of Adam Scott winning the Masters and in his green jacket will be raffled. All money raised will go towards the machinery fund.
Raffle winner from last week was Peter Bryant and the schooner went to Nathan Seymour.
MIXED FOURSOMES
Jan Payne and Ben McCarthy are the Wellington Golf Club’s 2013 “D & J Rural Supplies” Mixed Foursomes Champions with a 27 holes scratch score of 126.
B Grade Champs were Alison and Rod Irwin with 145.
The handicap division was taken out by Heather Pieper and Geoff Walker.
Many thanks to the nine other pairs which took to the course on Sunday. Without you there wouldnt be a competition.
The 27 holes was trialled and looks like being played in this format again next year. It was mentioned that Dubbo has successfully played 27 holes for a number of years.
