"There is a great opportunity to look after the customers here. It's a superb business and Bill and the boys have done a fabulous job," Mr Stewart said.

"Many people will miss Bill but he has to go because of family reasons."

Mr Speddo will have connections with the town but is moving to Laurieton on the North Coast.

"I am going to be with my wife and family to help out there. I will be working there as well but be in Wellington from time to time,'' he said

"I have enjoyed my lengthy time here and I will miss Wellington but Ian will do a great job."

There are big things about to happen at Speddo's according to Mr Stewart.

"Watch this space," he said.
