Snake handler bitten twice on face

09 Mar, 2010 08:50 AM
A snake handler was bitten twice in the face by a brown snake in his home in the upper NSW Hunter region overnight, NSW Ambulance says.

The 35-year-old man was bitten once on his nose and once on the forehead at his house in Eldon Street, Aberdeen, about 12.15am, an Ambulance spokesman said.

He was taken to Muswellbrook Hospital but was later flown to a hospital in Newcastle in a serious but stable condition.

The man kept a number of snakes in his home, the spokesman said.

Brown snakes are among Australia's most deadly serpents.

Probably just a love bite..sounds like the man loved the snake more than the snake loved the man.
