Round four sees some top moves

24 Jun, 2009 04:32 PM
In round four of the winter night competition, Sally’s Team went down 27-15 to Tamara’s Team.

Brodie Burke was excellent in shooting and Helen Morley was brutal in defence. In this game players were most impressed that they all managed to stay on and last the game.

On court three Muffin Tops had their first win of the season beating Red Delicious 25-22.

Stacey Hague was a stand out for the game, barely missing a shot.

Red Delicious did put up a good fight though, with Naomi on fire in the ring and Ben unstoppable in defence. Best wishes go out to Robyn Keogh - we all hope she has a very speedy recovery.

Numbers were down this week, so we do ask that players let their team-mates know if they are unable to make the game.

Thanks to the Aussie players who had the bye this week but came and filled in for both games.

The draw for round five is Sally’s Team versus Red Delicious and Tamara’s Team versus Aussies. Muffin Tops have the bye.

In Saturday morning games, all teams excluding the opens are a bit slack when it comes to team score sheets. All names must be entered every week before the game starts.

Opens

Red delicious played extremely well with a full team.

They put up a wonderful fight however, lost 22 to 13 to a combined team of Morley’s and Pretty Kitty’s.

Fortunately they forfeited.

Juniors have set up duties on Saturday.

Please be early for games - 8.45am for a 9am start and 9.45 for a 10am start.

Cumnock Carnival

Rain, rain and more rain - it’s farmers delight; netballers plight.

The under 12s braved the elements to come up with one win and a loss. Well done to all those who will remember the day with glee (Emily and Brigid Campbell, Adelaide Sears, Ashleigh and Taylor Giddings, Jim Barton, Maddie and Kaleah Austin).

Thanks to Teena for umpiring, much to her delight.

Dubbo Carnival

The under 14s team had a great day and came up with a second place despite the weather.

They thoroughly enjoyed the day despite some of the girls having to come to terms with the pleated skirts.

The team consisted of Grace Whiteley, Clare O’Brien, Geena Purcell, Brittany Styles, Casey Austin, Sarah Barton, Jessica Last, Candace Brien and Kelly Kissell.
