Brother and sister, top jockey Greg Ryan and Wellington-trainer Karen McCarroll, had an interest in the Lewis Pest Control Benchmark 60 Handicap (1000 metres) at Parkes, but not with the same horse.
Clare Wyne, trained by Karen, led into the straight with Greg on the Leeton-trained Plan the Win in hot pursuit. Ridden by Paul Payne, Clare Wyne (5.50) held on to score by more than a length from Plan the Win (4.20 fav) with Go Gemmie (Tim Phillips, 11.00) in third place.

Dubbo trainer Peter Nestor dominated at the Parkes TAB Cup meeting on Sunday, winning the feature races with Miss Alberta and Boomerang.
Miss Alberta won the $15,000 Telescopic Tyres and Batteries - Falken Parkes Cup (1600 metres) and Boomerang, the $17,000 Telescope Tyres and Batteries - Falken Satellite Benchmark 75 Handicap (1200 metres).
The lightly raced five-year-old chestnut mare Miss Alberta was strongly supported for the Cup, firming from 2.80 to 2.50 favourite in the betting ring.
Allowed to race at the tail of the field by Brad Clark, Miss Alberta produced a strong finish in the straight to beat South Coast visitor Regal Celeb (Greg Ryan, 4.00) by two lengths with Mosselton (Michael Travers, 3.20) running third.
Owned by Mark and Lyn Betar from Dubbo, Miss Alberta has the impressive record of seven wins and three placings from 14 starts. Completing a memorable day for trainer Peter Nestor, Boomerang prevailed in a thrilling finish to the Satellite Handicap.
Fifty metres from the finish seven horses were stretched across the track, including Boomerang which had been the joint leader at the top of the straight.
A real “trier”, Boomerang (David Pisani, 8.00), held on to defeat Monaro Magic (Greg Ryan, 3.60 fav) and Flying Along (Mathew Cahill, 5.00).

The Jeffries family were very much involved with the Cup Meeting at Parkes on Sunday.
Dale Jeffries as curator received praise for the presentation of the track. His wife, local trainer Sharon Jeffries, sponsored a race and Dale and Sharon’s daughter Tiffany Jeffries, apprentice jockey to her mother, won the opening event on Rock Island.
Trained at Moruya on the far south coast by John Marzol, Rock Island (7.50) led all the way to win the Telescope Tyres and Batteries - Falken Maiden Plate (1400 metres), from London Rebecca (Greg Ryan, 3.80 fav) and My Peregrine (Joe Galea, 9.00). Tiffany Jeffries has now ridden 30 winners.

George Wright, who trains both gallopers and pacers at Parkes, had a winning double at the Orange Picnic Races on Saturday with Hinton and Darcy Legend.
Three wide and under pressure at the 600 metres, Hinton (Ben Duggan, 9.00) responded gamely to win the Boree Bracelet - Class B (1280 metres) from Roman Eagle (Joel Butler, 16.00), and Royal Taga (John Hyde, 3.80).
Regal Barista set a fast pace in the Tony Quirk Memorial Cup - Class B (1600 metres) but Darcy Legend (Ben Duggan, 4.60) finished best to defeat the Wendy Baker, Parkes-trained Lochstar (Rachael Murray, 13.00) and Regal Barista (John Mills, 7.00).
After racing outside the leader Atomode, the Kevin White, Cowra-trained Shot Putt (Ashley Boyd, 2.60 fav) won the Orange Picnic Cup (1300 metres) but had to survive protests from Ben Duggan, second on Aftadaka, (3.20) and John Hyde, third on Le Endi (10.00).
