Round 15 of the nine-hole fun competitions have been completed at the golf course with big numbers turning up for a hit out.
Men
Fifty players fought out this round with plenty of low scores recorded – they must have been all saving handicap and decided to have a go at the same time.
Kev Whale and Cody Hannelly both had nett 30 while Ross Godfrey, with nett 29, and Dave French, Clint Ridley and Chica McCarroll, all nett 28, were pipped at the post by Mick Rich with nett 27.
Fletcher Mostyn leads the best seven round trophy on minus 21 followed by Matt Redfern minus 19, Ross Godfrey minus 18, Geoff Plasto and Garth Watts minus 16. The course rating was 34 and Garth Watts won the mystery hole number seven.
This week’s raffle winner was Mitch Spradbrow.
Women
A total of 16 ladies fronted last Sunday with the long grass still causing some pain.
Tracey Parker with her best round ever won this round with nett 27, from Alison Irwin with nett 32.
Tracey still leads the best seven rounds from Rachael Krarup and Michelle Eather who did not record a score on Sunday due to the snakes chasing her out of the long grass. Round 16 will be played this week over the back nine holes.
Juniors
Four juniors – Aiden Bestwick, Brianna and Kim Trappett along with Kate Jeffery - played four holes last Sunday.
Remember it only costs $1 to play so if any of the budding young golfers would like a bit of help turn up on Sunday mornings at 8am. You only play until 10am, so if you are interested please turn up so we can get more numbers to run a little competition with handicaps before it is too late and we call it off.
