The Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge played the first round of its semi-finals last Monday night with some surprising results.
The presentation of the Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge has been set down for December 20 at the Federal Hotel kicking off at 12.30pm.
In the big match of the night Wellington Hotel 1 took on the Federal Hotel in what should have been a very close match.
With the doubles being the first event for the night, it was Tony Poole and Scott Dutfeild taking on Andrew Davis and Brett Rich with Tony and Scott winning 2-0.
The second doubles game saw Alf Wilson and Dale Harris take on Nathan Martin and James Mason in what was a closer game, but alas Alf and Dale won 2-1.
Wellington Hotel 1 were two games down going into the singles and needed to lift but the Federal Hotel had other ideas and put the match away by taking out the first two singles games.
Results as follows, Alf Wilson def Nathan Martin 2-0 and Dale Harris def James Mason 2-0, so the Federal Hotel won the match by a very comfortable margain of four games to nil and now have next week off.
Sparkees were up against Cee-Cee’s at the Wellington Bowling Club, the only problem was the Sparkees were one Spark short so it was going to be very difficult for them.
The doubles started the night with Dave Wilson and Eugene Spicer taking on Peter Watson and Ken Fairley with Dave and Eugene winning 2-0.
In the next doubles it was Wendy Wilson and Doreen Saunders taking on Rod Hampstead in what should have been an easy win for the girls but Rod put up a great show to win
by 1-2, to leave the match at one all.
Singles games saw Dave Wilson def Peter Watson 2-1, Colleen Curry lose to Ken Fairley 0-2 and Eugene Spicer def Rod Hampstead 2-1.
With only three players available that left the Sparkees with no hope of winning as they had to forfeit the last singles giving the Cee-Cee’s a four games to two victory.
The final match of the night was between Wellington Hotel
A and the winless Grand Legends.
Grand Legends will end up staying that way as they forfeited their match to Wellington Hotel A who is still alive in the competition.
Round two of the semi-finals in the Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge sees Wellington Hotel 1 take on Cee-Cee’s at the Wellington Hotel and Sparkees go up against Wellington Hotel A at the Wellington Bowling Club.
Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge top scores for the night were Eugene Spicer 140, 2x100, 95, 3x80s, Dale Harris 133, 2x90s, Rod Hampstead 124, 3x90s, Ken Fairley 116, 94, 84, Colleen Curry 103, Alf Wilson 3x100, 80, Nathan Martin 100, 3x80s, Scott Dutfeild 100, 2x80s, Dave Wilson 100, 80, Andrew Davis 98, 2x80s.
Lowest score for the night in the Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge and you can probably guess who it is, that’s right Brett Rich who scored two, the only problem is we don’t know if he did it in one dart or two. Keep firing Brett.
