Hot contest produces interesting darts results

Round three of the Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge was contested last Monday night with every match being played producing some interesting results.

Results from round three saw the Central Hotel Old Boys get a visit from the Grand Legends in a match that could have gone either way.

The doubles games were shared one a piece, but it was the singles games where the Grand Legends received there luck to win the majority.

Ian Smith defeated Garth Watts 2-0, Irma Behrems defeated Graeme Kent 2-1, Allan Brown lost to Dave Wilson 2-1, while Shane Mitchell defeated Eugene Spicer 2-1.

The Central Hotel Old Boys came out in the teams game and won that to leave the result as a four games to three victory to the Grand Legends who just keep winning.

The Sparkees and the TePee Pink Ladies did battle at the Wellington Bowling Club.

With the Sparkees only having three players available the ladies thought they were in with a chance but alas, the Sparkees won the first five games and the match was as good as over.

Lyn Connelly defeated Colleen Curry 2-1, Rod Hampstead defeated Doreen Saunders 2-1, Peter Watson defeated Wendy Wilson 2-0, and the only win for the Pink Ladies came with a forfeit to Beck Pool.

The Sparkees also won the teams game to record a six games to one victory and put them top of the table.

The battle of the Wellington Hotel was on again with the Hot Heads taking on the Souths Wellington Hotel.

The doubles games were shared but it was in the singles games that the Wellington Hotel Hot Heads flexed their muscles winning all four games.

Ian Martin defeated Geoff Wyatt 2-1, Brett Rich defeated Margie Mills 2-0, Andrew Davies defeated James Smith 2-1 and Nathan Martin defeated Malcolm Nunn 2-1.

The Hot Heads also took out the teams game to record a six games to one victory.

The Federal Hotel received a visit from the Wellington Hotel in what was to be a very hard-fought match.

The doubles games were shared but in the singles the luck of the Federal Hotel ran out as the Wellington Hotel picked up the majority of the games, but only just.

Teena Hill lost to Alf Wilson 0-2, Phillip Gorman defeated Michael Field 2-1, Michael Griffith defeated Chris Toynton 2-0 and Peter Fitzsimmons defeated Scott Dutfield 2-1.

The teams game was taken out by the Federal Hotel but it was not enough as the Wellington Hotel recorded a four games to three victory.

Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge top scores for the night were Andrew Davies 133, 105, 2x90s, 3x80s, Scott Dutfield 121, 95, Alf Wilson 120, 91, 85, Ian Smith 120, 85, Eugene Spicer 116, 81, Brett Rich 110, Shane Mitchell 100, 99, Allan Brown 100, 98, Dave Wilson 100, 2x90s, 3x80s, Peter Watson 100, 2x90s, 83, Rod Hampstead 3x90s, 3x80s, Micheal Field 2x90s, Ian Martin 95, Lyn Connelly 94, 2x80s, Nathan Martin 92, Chris Toynton 3x80s, Irma Behrems 89 and Peter Fitzsimmons 81.

The Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge Highest Peg was taken out by Rod Hampstead with a 100.

The lowest score in the Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge last week was Malcolm Nunn who said he would not get the lowest score, but the Oche said to him you can never say it won’t happen, hey Malcolm.

TePee Ladies top score for the week was Lyn Connelly with 94 and the highest peg was 61 by Wendy Wilson.

Points table after the three rounds of the Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge sees the Sparkees six points +15, Grand Legends six points +13, Central Hotel Old Boys four points +9, Wellington Hotel Hot Heads four points +7, Federal Hotel two points -7, Wellington Hotel two points -11, Souths Wellington Hotel nil -11 and TePee Pink Ladies nil-15.

Draw for round four of the Rod Hampstead Electrical Darts Challenge will see the Central Hotel Old Boys take on Sparkees, TePee Pink Ladies up against Federal Hotel, Wellington Hotel versus Wellington Hotel Hot Heads and Grand Legends against Souths Wellington Hotel.
