The Wellington Horse and Pony Club is mounting up for the first time in 2012 this Sunday February 5 at Wellington Showground from 9.30am.
The club has a group of volunteers dedicated to helping children of all ages reach their riding potential in a variety of disciplines, and with quite a few horses (not to mention riders and parents) benefitting from an ample supply of feed over the Christmas and new year period.
Now is the time to start getting back into shape!
Pony Club president Nick Knowles says he’s expecting 2012 to be another busy and exciting year.
“Some of the big events on the calendar include the very successful one day event at Geurie which attracts riders from as far away as Queensland, and our annual Pony Club Camp in July is four days of riding and fun for the whole family.”
“We’re very much a family club, with a lot of younger riders coming through, which is fantastic, and the joy we see on the faces of both new and experienced riders makes it all worthwhile.”
The Rally Day will also be the club’s registration day for 2012, and anyone with an interest in horses and riding is invited to the showground to find out more.
