Store windows to embrace spirit of boot racing carnival

08 Feb, 2010 11:55 AM
With the 2010 VB Gold Wellington Boot Racing Carnival not too far away, best dressed window and staff competitions are being held.

The competition aims to promote interest in the Central West’s biggest racing carnival of the year.

The Wellington Boot has the largest prize money of any country race, ensuring a quality field, and the club has planned many exciting events to enhance the weekend and create a carnival atmosphere.

To assist with this promotion, the race club is inviting retail stores and businesses in Wellington to dress their windows from mid March until the Boot Carnival on April 3 and 4.

The theme will reflect the racing carnival.

In past years, local horse owners, trainers and jockeys have loaned clothing and riding gear to stores to assist in creating a theme. Posters are available from the race club to assist entrants.

There will be a prize for the best dressed window and one for the best dressed staff - each winner receiving $100.

For more information, or to enter your business, contact Marie or Terry Hoffman on 6845 1025 or email tema70@hotmail.com

Judging will take place on Friday April 2.
