08 Feb, 2012 09:40 AM
NSW Aboriginal Affairs Minister Victor Dominello believes the state-wide taskforce into the Indigenous needs and culture in this state will work and is already getting results.

The minister was is Wellington to meet with Aboriginal stake holders.

“The taskforce has a three point plan,” he said.

“(It is) a historic partnership which will produce results and is a long way down the track; a plan, not an adhoc strategy and evidenced based outcomes.

“The previous state government failed to find any traction.

“We are listening and consulting with Wellington representatives.”

The minister also met the Wellington mayor, Councillor Anne Jones and state MP Andrew Gee.

“We don’t want to throw money at this,” Mr Dominello said.

“There is plenty of money to go around it’s about the previous failings and how we can establish a sensible strategy and outcome.”
