It’s a busy centre, but often people don’t know about the services available to them at the Wellington Community and Allied Health Services centre manager Joan Murphy said.
“If we can’t help you, we will soon point you in the right direction,” she said.
Community and Allied Health works closely with the hospital and Wellington Aboriginal Health Services to follow the progress of patients.
They are now running a full program and Ms Murphy will
be looking for ways to enhance it.
After a quiet January, the aged-care group has started up again and meet each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They still have vacancies.
A schedule will soon be determined for the outreach health clinic which visits Mumbil, Stuart Town and Geurie.
“It’s a popular facility and it makes it much easier for the residents, especially those who can’t always get in to see us,” she said.
Community and Allied Health also provides services in Aboriginal health, a diabetes clinic, dietetics, community nursing, chronic and complex care, outreach health clinics, mental health, social work, women’s health, child and family health, school health, health of older people, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.
