Eastern Star Gas’ Executive General Manager of Stakeholder relations has hailed its information session a big success in Wellington.
“This one of the forms of consultation and people in these can meet experts and discuss issues, concerns and we’re happy to talk with them.”
We also present supplementary info including newsletters, fact sheets and the like. Engaging and consulting is vital,’’ Peter Fox said.
Eastern Star Gas are moving ahead while shareholders weigh up a take over by Santos of their gas interests and Mr Fox said “until then its business as usual”.
There’s no doubt the Narrabri to Wellington pipeline culminating in a gas fired power station in the town is exciting prospect for the area.
It means jobs and economic growth opportunity, but property owners in the region will have to have their fears allayed.
“There is much misinformation in the process coming from many outside sources and we try and explain the process with very good stakeholder relations,” Mr Fox said.
“One on One liason with property owners and we listen and engage to find out the best way we can take the pipeline without effecting farming.”
The Wellington region is more gas friendly further north the debate is still highly controversial and heated.
